Joe Tussing is a lifelong martial artist who started his journey Wrestling at eight years old with one of the premier clubs in the country. Joe was a stand out youth wrestler, winning multiple state titles in freestyle and Greco and wrestled for a nationally ranked high school team, Cimarron Memorial, where he compiled a 135-27 record. Joe placed multiple times at States including reaching the State finals in 2000. Joe planned to wrestle in college, but stepped away due to the birth of his first child. After the birth of his second child, Joe crossed over to MMA and began coaching wrestling as well as training to compete in MMA in 2006. In 2009 he started coaching wrestling at Striking Unlimited, while fighting MMA for Tuff-n-Uff, the #1 amateur promotion in the world. Joe continued training and competing in NoGi jiu-jitsu while coaching amateur and pro MMA fighters. Joe competes as an expert in nogi jiu-jitsu and has won many competitions, including NAGA, Grappling X, and Grappler Quest. In 2019, Joe began training in the Gi under Steve Feeka of Odins Halls BJJ to satisfy the IBJJF requirements to obtain a black belt in Jiu Jitsu. Joe is currently a three striped purple belt. Joe won the IBJJF American National as a blue and purple belt.
Joe is a true student of martial arts and has trained with some of the biggest names in MMA and Kickboxing. Through his training with fighters from promotions like the UFC, Bellator, Glory, and Lion Fights, Joe has developed his own style which incorporates techniques from many disciplines to create an all encompassing self-defense system. In addition, Joe is a NASM certified personal trainer and nutrition coach, who is passionate about helping his clients achieve their goals.
